Geriatric Medicine

The need for starting a separate Senior Citizen OPD’s was felt way back in 2017 and the OPD was started under the Department Of General Medicine, dedicated to Senior Citizens Only every Saturday Morning from September 2017 onwards.

This OPD was stopped on March 7th 2020, due to the onset of CoVID 19, and restarted in August 2021.

The OPD was handled by Dr. Edwin Gomes and Dr. Shashank Prabhudessai, in the pre CoVID period.

The bond residents joined on 21st September 2021 and from then onwards patients were seen every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in a separate dedicated OPD

Vision

Two MD seats in the area of geriatric medicine are to be established, as well as a location where medical officers can receive training in the AETCOM module for geriatric care.

Mission

To enable such clinics and wards get started in every district hospital and PHC.
