Otorhinolaryngology (ENT)

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) has established itself as a state-of-the-art tertiary care referral center for all the basic and advanced ENT diseases and surgeries, not only for the state of Goa but also for the patients visiting the department from neighboring states. It has been the constant endeavor of the ENT Department, to provide quality services to all those who visit the department with utmost love and dedication.

Vision

• To increase the unit in the ENT department from I to II units.
• To increase the number of Head & Neck surgeries for cancer patients.
• To fill the post and appoint 2 audiologists and 2 Speech therapists in order to improve the audiological service including verbal rehabilitation therapy for children undergone Cochlear Implant surgery.
• To increase bed strength in ENT wards to 40 from the existing 30.

Mission

• O.T –Two (2) tables on all working days.Instruments:- a) Coblator, b) Neronavigation, c) Endoscopic neck surgeries like thyroid: instruments minimally invasive video-assisted Thyroid surgeries.
• To get the department recognized as a Mentor department for Cochlear Implant surgeries in the western zone of the Country by doing regular Cochlear Implant surgery.
• To increase the number of beds as per requirement (as per the number of units in the department) and to increase the no. of O.T’s and specialty clinics.
• Working towards recognizing the department of ENT, G.M.C, as a super specialty centre and as a department for all advanced surgeries in the field of ENT by increasing the number of beds, units, specialty clinics, O.T’s and air conditioning of the OPD.
