Physiology
The Department of Physiology, Goa Medical College, consisting of 13 teaching faculty   members and 6 postgraduate students is involved in-
- Taking lectures, practicals, tutorials, demonstrations, and Early Clinical Exposure sessions for 1st-year MBBS students
- Taking lectures for 1st year BSc Nursing students and Post Basic Diploma Psychiatry Nursing students
- Taking lectures and practicals for 1st year BDS students
- Taking lectures and practicals for 1st-year AHS students
- Conducting teaching sessions (seminars, journal clubs, and discussions) for postgraduate MD( Physiology), MDS, and MOT students
- Guiding 1st-year MBBS students in Small Group Discussions, Self Directed Learning, and preparation of the subject
- Timely assessments and examinations for students
Vision
The Department of Physiology, Goa Medical College, through its teaching of Human Physiology, aims to create professionals who can meaningfully comprehend common clinical conditions as a result of deranged normal physiology in patients and also to enhance the contribution towards medical research.
Mission
It strives to do so by inculcating innovative methods of teaching- learning and assessment of 1st year MBBS students and also by adopting a comprehensive postgraduate training programme while at the same time fostering research in applied physiology and educational technology in the department.
