The department runs a postgraduate course offering MD in Radiology at Goa University. Every year 6 MD students are admitted to the 3-year MD programme.

The department also runs a parallel Medical Imaging Technology course, which is a 4-year training programme (3 academic years and 1-year internship), for aspiring medical technologists.

Interventional Radiology OPD will be started in the Department for the following patients:

The Department is also in the process of acquiring RF ablation/ Microwave ablation machines to treat benign and malignant tumors like Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Osteoid osteoma and varicose veins.

    Vision

Upgrading existing machines – the MRI and CT scan machines are more than ten years in service, and plans need to be in place for their up-gradation / replacement.

Cath lab for interventional Radiology – presently the Cardiology cath lab is being utilized to perform complex interventional procedures. Cath lab allotment time currently limits the number of cases that can be performed per week.

The Department is in the process of acquiring an independent Cath lab.
