Endocrinology

Endocrinology services at GMC have started since September 2009 with the establishment of the Endocrine Unit. Over the years, it has grown to a full-fledged department of Endocrinology currently having a professor and 2 assistant professors as faculty members.

The NMC has given permission for a DM Endocrinology degree since the academic year 2022-23 for 2 students annually. There are 7 diabetes educators and 2 podiatry assistants to help with clinical care. The department provides the full spectrum of endocrine clinical services including pediatric endocrinology. The department has been part of major research projects over the years like the CARRS translational trial, LIVING trial and ICMR-INDIAB epidemiological study besides multinational clinical drug trials.
