Oncology

The Department of Medical Oncology was started in August 2018. Over the last 5 years, the department has grown by leaps and bounds.

Our department registers over 100 new cancer patients per month, over 1000 patients per year. We have OPDs thrice a week and we see about 70 – 80 patients in each OPD. We have approximately 470 – 490 admissions per month, ie about 20 admissions daily. These are patients who need chemotherapy or supportive care in terms of antibiotics, blood and platelet transfusions, pain management or acute palliative care.
