Pharmacology

Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics is actively involved in imparting training and education to IInd year MBBS, IInd year BDS, IInd year Allied Health courses, IInd year Bsc in Nursing, MDS students and postgraduate students in Pharmacology.

The department currently has eight permanent faculties, two senior residents, three asst. lecturers on bond and fifteen postgraduate students.

The department is rigorously involved in pharmacovigilance activities and bioethics, runs an animal house and carries out research on varied topics like drug utilization, prescribing patterns, adverse drug reaction, antimicrobial resistance, prescription errors etc.

To be nationally renowned for excellence in pharmacology and therapeutics with the final goal of serving mankind.

Mission

Aims to develop and equip students with a concrete foundation in basic pharmacology and therapeutic applications. We strive to promote the rational use of medicines, ICH-GCP guidelines, encourage pharmacovigilance activities and participate in research.
